The Fountain City Mardi Gras Association is a local non-profit organization located in the beautiful city of Columbus, GA. The mission the Fountain City Mardi Gras Association is to improve the greater area of Columbus by providing educational opportunities through Mardi Gras and Carnival activities, such as our parade and festival.

Mardi Gras is not a single day but rather part of Carnival season that occurs 47 days prior to Easter. Mardi Gras for Columbus is celebrated in spirit in the month of March prior to spring break. Despite popular belief of its origin; the first Mardi Gras celebration was held 1703 in Mobile, AL; 15 years before New Orleans was founded.

Fountain City Mardi Gras is a scholarship fundraiser meant to be a family-oriented celebration where all can take part, participate, and enjoy. Fountain City Mardi Gras will occur at a regular scheduled time conducive for Columbus, GA.
